Of course the family pet is important! You can find out about all the JMH's pet regulations by calling (865) 436-8876 or the toll-free line is 800-473-3163. They will be able to give you all the details. And to see other pet-friendly cabins, you can visit their website for a complete listing.

The grist mill usually runs spring through fall; however, I am not sure if there is a set schedule for when the sorghum is made. The number to the Cades Cove visitor center is (865) 436-1200. They should be able to tell you anything you need to know for your trip. You should try to come this fall, the leaves changing are beautiful!

[...] The artwork of internationally renowned artist Paul Murray can be seen in his gallery in Gatlinburg. Murray makes a conscious effort to capture the qualities of the Smoky Mountains, because he feels that natural beauty is fading fast. He focuses on what is simple and beautiful, because those things are getting lost in this complex age. The gallery does not only exhibit the traditional art forms of oil painting and drawings, but on Saturday mornings from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Red Maples brings his mule for Mountain Man Storytelling. Maples tells the old tales of living in the Smokies and all the mountain ways. Murray is a part of the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community. [...]

Several hundred folk came out to see this battle that took a little over an hour to perform. Look for it next year, a treat for all ages
